At Grid 1 we want to do our part to offer earth friendly green options to our customers in order to be sure everyone has the chance to make a difference when purchasing our products. Our battery powered tube amplifier already produces much less heat than an all tube amp, and it has very low power consumption. We currently offer a few "green" wood choices like our beautiful bamboo cabinets that are made with the highest quality bamboo plywood, and our gorgeous hardwood elm cabinets that are made from salvaged/fallen tree's in Point Reyes California. Our local wood options will continue to grow as the fine woodworker who makes our G1 cabinets works with many local companies to "save" tree's that would otherwise be discarded. He lets the tree's age and then hand mills them to perfection. All the local wood options have a story, a location, and a date associated to when and where they were salvaged. We have a special plaque made for every G1 amplifier made of local wood, so our customers know all the details about the wood used in their amplifier. We plan to continue to offer more "green" options as they become available so our customers can make an eco-friendly choice whenever possible.
